We’ve done all the research so you don’t have to, now let us simplify it and lay it out for you to draw your own conclusions.

The Open Current exists because we noticed something: if you search for real, honest information on off-grid power, water, or appliances, you mostly find retailer product pages or scattered Reddit threads, not a single place that pulls it together.

We’re not a lab, and we’re upfront about that. What we do is dig through manufacturer specs, real owner reports from forums and communities, and conversations with people who actually live this way, then lay out the honest trade-offs so you can decide what’s right for your situation. We’re independent and unbiased. If something isn’t worth your money, we’ll tell you, whether or not we earn a commission from it.
