Who I am. The Open Current is a one-person site at theopencurrent.com. Contact: scot@theopencurrent.com.
Analytics. I use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It sets cookies and collects your IP address, approximate location, browser and device, and which pages you viewed. I use it in aggregate. I can’t identify you from it and I don’t try. Google’s privacy policy covers what they do with it: policies.google.com/privacy
Newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address goes to beehiiv, who run the newsletter. They store it and handle delivery. I use it to send new guides and nothing else. I don’t sell or share it. Unsubscribe from any email and it’s gone. beehiiv’s policy: beehiiv.com/privacy
Comments and accounts. Comments are disabled and there is no way to register an account, so neither collects anything.
Embedded content. Some articles embed content from other sites, such as videos. Those behave as if you’d visited that site directly and may set their own cookies.
Affiliate links and ads. There are none at present. If that changes, this page will say so and the affiliate disclosure page will explain how it works.
Your data. Ask and I’ll tell you what I hold, which for most people is nothing beyond a newsletter subscription. Ask and I’ll delete it. Email the address above.
